# Invest

> Buy shares in companies you know, and — if you like — take a view on the day's big events.

## Buy shares

Invest in companies you recognise, priced and held in your own currency.

1. Tap **Invest**.
2. Search for a company.
3. Enter an amount in your currency. Pesarc shows the number of shares you'll
   get.
4. Confirm. Your holding shows up in your portfolio, valued in your currency.

## Markets (a feature, not the point)

Pesarc also has prediction **markets** — a light way to take a view on big local
and global events (sport, elections, prices). It's one feature among many, not
what Pesarc is about.

* Browse open markets and see the current Yes/No split.
* Take a position with part of your balance.
* Settle automatically when the event resolves.
